Helping Hands has a special name for our fathers. We call them our VIP’S. Very Important Parents. We know that Dads make a difference! So we have developed a program to help you prepare for the greatest adventure of your life.
Becoming a father, especially if it is unexpected, can be overwhelming and stressful, but it can also be a wonderful new adventure. You will work with a Mentor/Coach who’s already dealt with many of the challenges of fatherhood; from pregnancy to taking care of your baby, and help you deal with the some of the common problems of infancy and childhood as well as manage your life.
Dads play a vital role in the development of their children.
We’re here to help you become the best Dad you can be!
At Helping Hands PRC we will provide you with lessons from the “Practical Fatherhood” curriculum on many topics like:
- Dad’s Role in Baby’s Life
- Bonding with Your Unborn Baby
- Coping with Frustration
- Healthy Relationships
- Practical Child Care
- And much more!
We also have parenting videos on many topics like:
- Discipline
- Toilet Training
- Baby’s Sleep Habits
- And more!
We have books that you can borrow and read. Videos to improve your relationships. You can also talk to a Mentor/Coach about parenting and life issues.
The VIP Program helps you prepare for your role as a father. While at the same time you can earn “Dad Dollars” to spend on things in our Blessing Store. You’ll find things like:
- New Baby Cloths
- New Blankets
- Diapers
- New Toys
- Baby Supplies
- And much more!
And you can even save your “Dad Dollars” up and purchase a New Crib and Mattress!
There are other ways you can also earn “Dad Dollars” by doing the following:
- Taking Prenatal classes
- By taking Early Childhood Family Education classes
- By taking First Aid Classes
- By taking Life Skills classes
- By earning good grades/GED classes
- By attending parenting classes
Proof of visit is required to earn “Dad Dollars”.
